REFINING OF GOLD, SILVER AND PLATINUM GROUP METALS

FEEDSTOCKS

We are in the business of recovering and refining gold and silver, as well as the six platinum group metals: platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium.

Gauteng Refinery accepts most types of precious metal containing arisings from legitimate origin.

1. GOLD

The primary focus is on,

Secondary gold is accepted subject to strict criteria through our Urban Mining business initiatives

2. SILVER

Any silver containing arisings above 200 gram per tonne

3. PLATINUM GROUP METALS

The below highlights our refining capability in terms of purity and form,

Gold

Our Gold has a minimum purity of 99,5% plus and is sold in sponge form, but can also be supplied as intermediate salts, granules or bars.

Silver

Silver concentrates from mines, metallurgical facilities and consumer and industrial wastes are processed to produce 99,99% silver. This is subsequently sold to our group company African Argentum Resources to manufacture value added products for a wide range of applications.

Platinum

The platinum group metals are recovered and refined to the agreed purity up to 99,9%.

Our Platinum is usually sold in sponge form, but can also be supplied as granules or bars. A range of platinum based compounds can also be supplied, including colloidal platinum. Assay certificates for each batch are available.

Palladium

Our Palladium is available in sponge form, but can also be supplied as granules, bars or intermediate salts. Gauteng Refinery's palladium feedstocks are sourced from a number of sources including process residues, electronic scrap, auto catalysts and scrap printed circuit boards. A range of palladium based compounds such as palladium chloride can be supplied.

Rhodium

We process, refine and supply Rhodium available in sponge and powder. Assay certificates for each batch are available.

Ruthenium

Gauteng Refinery's Ruthenium is available in sponge form, but can also be supplied as intermediate salts.

Osmium

Gauteng Refinery is a leading global supplier of Osmium. It has a minimum purity of 99,8% and again assay certificates are available for each batch.

Iridium

Iridium is sold and is available in sponge form, but can also be supplied as intermediate salts.
